Trust and empathy

«The greatest honor you can give a person is to trust them.»

MATTHIAS CLAUDIUS

The most important ingredient for successful legal representation is trust between lawyer and client. The indispensable basis and guarantee of success for any defense is a precisely prepared account of the facts of the case. The strategy follows the facts. Understanding this is often very difficult for clients in a stressful and stressful defense situation and requires empathetic guidance from the accompanying lawyer. Often, after many years, one no longer knows exactly how the facts of the case unfolded.

This must be carefully researched and processed. Trust and honesty are important in this process; only then can the right strategy be developed and the path to a solution be successfully navigated together. Dr. Sylvia Freygner gains this trust through her passion for her profession, her genuine interest in her clients, her empathy with those affected, and her tireless determination to succeed.

Ethics, ethos, or morals?

If morality is understood as a system of rules or values that has developed from a cultural, religious or social context, then ethos is understood as characteristics that describe a person’s character or personality. The word ethos is derived from the Greek word ‘ἔθος’ (ethos) and was already used by Aristotle. We understand ethics to have a broader meaning than ethos, as it encompasses a set of moral principles that are applied to an institution, organisation or society with its traditions and beliefs. Ethos thus influences the formation of ethics.

«Loyalty and safeguarding the needs and interests of my clients are my top priorities, which I have successfully upheld for many years.»

In my work as a lawyer, I therefore attach great importance to fulfilling and adhering to ethical principles in my cooperation with clients, authorities, courts, and, in particular, with the opposing party as part of my “ἔθος.” My priority is to serve the interests of my clients and to weigh up the costs and benefits in relation to the effort required to enforce the law.

Ultimately, clients are only satisfied if the benefits they gain from legal advice outweigh the costs they incur. Clients are in good hands with me because I put their interests above all others and have a clear view of the goal, which I pursue efficiently.
