Crisis Communication
«Those who communicate determine the course of history; those who remain silent lose.»
sylvia freygner
House searches, media coverage, the threat of reputational damage, and the associated economic impact are all accompanying measures of criminal investigations.
Transparent and cooperative communication with the media, courts, and authorities is essential. A “no comment” strategy is not part of our repertoire.
We maintain direct and open communication and control the narrative accompanying criminal proceedings. We understand the importance of effective communication in defense and how it is interdependent and intertwined.
Focus on strategy
The decisive factor in economic or financial criminal proceedings is the right strategy.
The strategy determines the path and is responsible for whether the goal of a defense is achieved. The decisive factor is the right strategy, which plans many steps ahead. The strategy determines the path.
It is responsible for determining whether the goal of a defense is achieved. As a first step in our consultation, we develop a coherent strategy that is appropriate for the situation and assign it to the measures of a defense.
«If you want to drain a swamp, don’t ask the frogs.»

Dealing with media narratives correctly
– “The presumption of innocence applies.”
In today’s world, where social media plays a dominant role in our communication and is a powerful tool in the creation of narratives, the principle of presumption of innocence is increasingly being reversed into a presumption of guilt in a digitalized world.
The form of reporting in criminal proceedings and high-profile civil proceedings has crossed a line that is difficult to reconcile with the need for privacy and data protection.
Public prejudice is rampant and destroys the foundations and values of humanity.
The application of this old legal principle of the presumption of innocence must therefore undergo a profound change and requires new accompanying instruments in legal advice.
In her book Es gilt die Unschuldsvermutung (The Presumption of Innocence Applies), Dr. Sylvia Freygner analyzes and redefines the concept of “guilt” in a new way.
«Terrible / is the last glance
of the oppressed innocent.»
JOHANN WOLFGANG VON GOETHE
In her book, she describes and explains how much those affected are under media pressure and suffer as a result, and what impact this has on criminal proceedings.
It opens up new perspectives and presents approaches on how consulting processes need to be sensitized to this topic and adapted accordingly in line with our digital age.
